Eco-Friendly Cleaning

Clean, without the chemical hangover.

Walk into most homes right after a cleaning service has left and the first thing you notice is the smell. That sharp, burn-your-nose bleach-and-ammonia cloud that takes hours to clear out. That’s not the smell of clean. That’s the smell of volatile organic compounds that your kids, pets, and anyone with asthma are now breathing in.

We don’t use those products. We never have.

What we use

Our everyday kit is built around plant-based, non-toxic cleaners from brands that publish their full ingredient lists. No surprise chemicals, no “proprietary fragrance” that’s actually phthalates, no surfactants that linger on surfaces your toddler puts in their mouth.

What you get instead:

  • Plant-based degreasers for kitchens and high-grease surfaces
  • Enzymatic cleaners for bathrooms — they actually work better than bleach on soap scum and mildew, without the lung irritation
  • Hydrogen peroxide and citric-acid-based disinfectants for high-touch surfaces
  • Microfiber cloths — we use color-coded microfiber to prevent cross-contamination (red for bathrooms, blue for kitchens, etc.) and wash them hot between every home
  • HEPA-filtered vacuums that actually capture fine particulates instead of blowing them back into the air

Who this is for

Eco-friendly is our default, not an upgrade. But it’s especially important for:

  • Families with infants or young children — little ones spend their lives on the floor and touching every surface
  • Households with pets — dogs and cats metabolize chemicals very differently from humans, and many common cleaners are toxic to them
  • People with asthma, allergies, or chemical sensitivities — we’ll ask up front what triggers to avoid
  • Anyone recovering from illness — the last thing a weak immune system needs is aerosolized chemicals
  • Pregnancy — many standard cleaning chemicals carry endocrine risks that aren’t worth guessing about

Still effective, still thorough

One of the most persistent myths about green cleaning is that it doesn’t actually clean. That was true twenty years ago. It hasn’t been true for a decade. Modern plant-based products match or exceed chemical cleaners for everyday residential and office use — including disinfection.

If there’s a specific situation that genuinely needs a stronger solution, we’ll talk to you about it first. Most homes never hit that threshold.
